Just this past Labor Day, I had the opportunity to spend a long 4-day weekend visiting Colorado. I hiked through parts of Rocky Mountain National Park and explored some of Estes Park with a good friend of mine. Needless to say, I fell in love with the natural beauty of the area and I am anxious to return.
After talking with some CM friends about it, I discovered

After talking with some CM friends about it, I discovered
that many of them were interested in going on a trip to the Rockies. My CM friend, Deborah (550454) from Aurora, Colorado offered to help organize it, and since then, a few others have helped me with arrangements. Activities include hiking, birdwatching, whitewater rafting, live entertainment, shopping, an arts and crafts show, etc. Various activity options are available for hikers and non-hikers alike.
Accomodations:
We will be staying in 2 cabins, Four Winds and Breezeway (one cabin will house the men, and the other cabin will house the women) at the YMCA of the Rockies. Together, the cabins can accomodate 23 people comfortably.
Rates will be based on 15 people lodging in the cabins for 4 nights. The rates will decrease as the group size increases. So please spread the word about this event. Attendees who are staying off-site, but are participating in activities at the YMCA of the Rockies will each be charged a $10 per day fee.

The cost of booking both cabins together for 4 nights is $206 per person (based on 15 people lodging). That comes to only $51.50/person/night.

All-you-can-eat buffet style meals will be provided in the Aspen Dining Room at the YMCA of the Rockies site. Sack lunches will be picked up by attendees on scheduled hiking days. On Thursday, everyone is responsible for providing his/her own dinner. Sandwiches may be purchased at the airport before boarding the shuttle or dinner may be purchased individually at the Aspen Dining Room or the Rustic Cafe upon arrival at the YMCA of the Rockies. Please keep mind that the Aspen Dining Room closes at 7 PM. A riverside buffet style lunch with a beverage will be provided on the day of the rafting trip.
